BSAS Welcomes Six New Trustees

The British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) is pleased to announce the appointment of six new trustees to its board. The new trustees will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the society and will help to ensure that the BSAS continues to be a leading voice in animal science research and education.

The new trustees are:

  • Dr. Steven Morrison, Head of the Livestock production sciences at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute, Hillsborough (AFBI) in Northern Ireland. Stevens’ research focuses on sustainable livestock farming .
  • Mr. Mike Addelman, Head of Communications and External Relations at the University of Manchester, who has extensive experience in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Dr. Nick Wheelhouse, Senior Lecturer in Animal Science at Edinburgh Napier University, whose research focuses on animal welfare and behaviour.
  • Dr. Lisa Collins, Professor of Animal Science at the University of Leeds, whose research focuses on the impact of nutrition on animal health and productivity.
  • Mr. Gareth Arnott, Lecturer in Animal Science at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), whose research focuses on animal behaviour and welfare.
  • Mr. Diarmuid Moloney, Chartered Accountant with Teagasc, who brings experience in finance and accounting in the agriculture sector.

We are thrilled to welcome our six new trustees to our board," said, Prof Elizabeth Magowan, President of BSAS . " Their diverse backgrounds and experiences will be invaluable as we work to advance animal science in the UK, Ireland and beyond. We look forward to working with them to further the BSAS mission."

The BSAS is a professional society that brings together scientists, researchers, and practitioners from across the animal science community. The society is committed to promoting the welfare and productivity of farm animals, as well as the understanding of the relationships between animals, humans, and the environment.
