BSAS Register of Accredited Animal Scientists and Animal Technologists

Summary

The British Society of Animal Science is the professional accrediting body for the Register of Accredited Animal Scientists and Technologists.

Run together with the Society of Biology and other supporting organisations, the register is for professionals in commerce, public service and academia and assures competency, knowledge and integrity through entry-level qualifications and an audited programme of Continuing Professional Development.

Through accreditation, animal scientists and technologists benefit from:

  • recognition of their skills, knowledge and professional status, both domestically and internationally
  • evidence to support career development opportunities and encouragement within their organisation to develop a culture of staff training and development
  • verification of responsible conduct and practice

Individuals must re-register for accreditation every three years by demonstrating their continued development and maintenance of skills and knowledge.

Applications and professional development are scrutinised by an expert panel whose expertise reflect those of the individual applicant.

The register is open for applications from all those involved in any discipline relating to the care, sustainability and productivity of animals.

Application is free for members of BSAS who use the discount code located in the Members’ Area of the BSAS website.
