Committees

BSAS is governed by a range of committees, members of which are elected or selected from the membership in the UK and overseas. Most committees have a chairperson and secretary and are assisted in the implementation of responsibilities by the BSAS secretariat. Whilst the Annual General Meeting is the ultimate decision-making body, the BSAS Council is the normal strategic and decision-making body of the society.

Standing Committees

All standing committees have a chairperson, secretary and three members of council as well as additional ordinary members:

From time to time BSAS organises ad hoc groupings for specific animal science issues and interests. Current ones include:

If members of the society are interested in joining any of the committees or groups outlined above then please contact Mike Steele, BSAS Chief Executive. BSAS policy is, where possible, to support all costs associated with travel and accommodation to enable participants to attend committee meetings.
